Concrete Cost in Santa Clarita: 2026 Price Guide

What concrete costs in 2026 for Santa Clarita driveways, patios, slabs, stamped work, removal, walks and walls, using published national ranges.

Concrete Cost in Santa Clarita: 2026 Price Guide

Plain concrete flatwork is published at roughly $6 to $12 a square foot installed across the country in 2026. We do not post a Santa Clarita price sheet. Two lots on one street can price very differently here, because one has a flat front yard a truck can reach and the other has a back yard behind a three-foot gate at the top of a slope.

The dollar figures on this page are national ranges that HomeGuide published for 2026. They are not quotes from The Santa Clarita Concrete Company. Labor rates in Los Angeles County, hillside access, pump time and the soil on your lot all shift the real number. Last checked October 2026.

How much does a concrete driveway cost?

The published national range for a concrete driveway is $6 to $15 per square foot, which puts a two-car driveway at $2,400 to $8,600. A plain gray driveway falls at $6 to $10 a foot. Simple decorative work, such as a colored border or exposed aggregate, falls at $10 to $15. Long estate driveways in Sand Canyon or Hasley Canyon are measured and priced one by one.

DrivewayNational published range
Plain, per sq ft$6 to $10
Basic decorative, per sq ft$10 to $15
20x20 (400 sq ft)$2,400 to $6,000
24x24 (576 sq ft)$3,500 to $8,600

How much does concrete cost per square foot?

An installed slab is published at $6 to $12 per square foot. Thickness moves it: $6 to $8 a foot at 4 inches, $8 to $10 at 6 inches. That covers grading, base, forms, concrete, finishing and labor. Breaking out old concrete, pumping to a back yard and extra steel are separate lines when a job calls for them.

How much does a concrete patio cost? What is fair for a 20x20, 12x20 or 16x20?

A plain patio is published at $4 to $12 per square foot, and a stained or stamped one at $8 to $30. For a 20x20 plain patio the range is $1,600 to $4,800. Stained or stamped, the same 20x20 is $3,200 to $12,000. A 12x12 plain patio is $600 to $1,700. No row is published for 12x20 (240 sq ft) or 16x20 (320 sq ft), so multiply your square feet by the per-foot range to get a rough bracket.

How much does it cost to pour a slab for a 24x24 garage or a 30x40 shop?

Published slab sizes are $600 to $1,200 for 10x10, $860 to $1,700 for 12x12, $2,400 to $4,800 for 20x20 and $5,400 to $10,800 for 30x30. There is no published row for the other two sizes. Arithmetic from the $6 to $12 per square foot figure gives $3,460 to $6,900 for a 24x24 (576 sq ft) and $7,200 to $14,400 for a 30x40 (1,200 sq ft). A slab that carries a building here also needs footings and steel to the approved plans, and that part is priced from the drawings.

How much is concrete per cubic yard?

Ready-mix is published at $119 to $147 per cubic yard with delivery inside 20 miles. That is only the material in the truck. Rural addresses in Agua Dulce and Acton sit farther from a plant, and small loads can carry a short-load charge from the supplier. Material is the smaller share of a flatwork bill. Labor, base and finishing are the larger share.

How much does it cost to remove and replace an old driveway?

To remove and replace a driveway, add two numbers. Removal is published at $3 to $8 per square foot with disposal, or $1,200 to $4,500 for a whole driveway. The new driveway then runs $6 to $15 per square foot. Our quotes show the tear-out as its own line so you can see both parts.

What does it cost to have old concrete broken up and hauled away?

Having concrete broken out and hauled away is published at $3 to $8 per square foot, disposal included. Thick slabs, slabs full of rebar and back yards where every piece leaves by wheelbarrow sit toward the top. A front driveway a loader can reach sits toward the bottom.

How much does stamped concrete cost next to plain concrete?

Stamped concrete is published at $8 to $19 per square foot, against $6 to $10 for a plain driveway. Published examples: a 20x20 stamped patio at $3,200 to $7,600, a two-car stamped driveway at $6,900 to $10,400, and a 4x20 stamped walk at $800 to $1,700. The extra pays for color, release agent, stamping labor and sealer.

How much extra is color or stain on its own?

No separate published figure exists for color or stain alone, so we will not quote a number here. Integral color is priced by the yard of concrete and by the shade. Stain is priced by the condition of the slab. Both are worked out after we see the job and you pick a sample.

How much does a concrete walkway cost?

A concrete walkway cost is published at $7 to $17 per square foot installed. For a walk four feet wide, that is $28 to $68 per running foot, and $1,400 to $3,400 for a typical project.

How much does a concrete retaining wall cost?

A concrete retaining wall cost is published at $3,000 to $10,000 on average, or $45 to $270 per linear foot, or $15 to $45 per square foot of wall face. Hillside lots are common in this valley, and a wall that holds a slope, a driveway or a neighbor's yard needs engineering and a permit. Those add to the price and are worth every dollar.

I got three quotes for the same patio and they are far apart. Which do I believe?

Believe the one you can check line by line. Quotes land far apart because they describe different jobs: one includes a pump and four inches of compacted base, another assumes the truck can reach and pours on bare dirt. Ask each bidder for thickness, base, steel, joint spacing, finish, haul-off and how the concrete reaches the yard. Once the three describe the same work, the gap usually narrows.

After demolition the contractor wants extra for a gravel base. Is that fair?

Sometimes. What is under an old slab is hidden until it comes out. Loose fill, a soft wet pocket from a broken sprinkler line or buried rubble are real reasons to add base rock. The fair way is a quote that names a unit price for extra base before work starts. If someone asks for extra for the base with nothing in writing, look at the ground with them and put the change on paper before agreeing. California requires change orders on home improvement contracts to be written.

How do I know if a concrete quote is fair?

A quote is fair when the total sits within the published range for that type of work and the paper tells you what you get. Look for square feet, thickness, base depth, reinforcement, joints, finish, removal, permit and cleanup. Check the payment terms too. In California the down payment on a home improvement contract is capped by law, which we explain in our contractor guide.
